Joshua Bowling is currently a student at Western Michigan University, studying both Percussion Performance and Music Education. He has studied under Dr. Marja Kerney, Prof. Judy Moonert, Prof. Keith Hall, and Landon Ewers. Through his time at WMU, he has performed as the principal percussionist with the University Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with Birds on a Wire (new music ensemble), Western Winds, the University Wind Symphony, the University Symphonic Band, the University Percussion Ensemble, the Bronco Marching Band, and the jazz combo program.
Josh currently works with the Mattawan Consolidated Schools marching band as a Front Ensemble Caption Head. He has worked with many other high school programs around West Michigan, such as Byron Center High School, Portage Northern High School, and Comstock Park High School. Josh strives to be as well rounded of a percussionist as possible, performing with several ensembles outside of WMU, such as the Legends Drum and Bugle Corps, Motor City Percussion, and G2 Percussion. |
